Chapter 33 Marry You, Wed You
d not to help her."Yun Qianyue! Don't you know your crime yet Do you really want to逼死your stepmother" The prince consoled Feng Sidefei gently for a moment, then turned back and was furious at Yun Qian...Chapter 33 Marrying You
The youth was overjoyed when Yun Qianyue agreed and reached out to take her hand, intending to leave quickly.
"Wait a moment, I need to pack my luggage!" Yun Qianyue evaded his hand and instructed Ling Lian and Yi Xue, who were standing at the door: "Pack several sets of clothing and prepare ten days' worth of food and water."
"Miss, are you really going" Ling Lian looked at the youth with a feeling that Miss agreeing so readily wasn't quite right. Although he said he would help Miss annul her marriage to the Donghai Kingdom and Rong王府, this was a major matter; could it be accomplished solely based on his words After all, the distance between the capital city and He Valley County was too great, and along the way were areas affected by disasters, making travel difficult.
"Yes!" Yun Qianyue nodded. She missed Rong景 and someone had given her an opportunity to use it as leverage to annul her marriage to the Donghai Kingdom and Rong王府. Naturally, she was delighted about it.
Ling Lian wanted to say more, but Yi Xue pulled her back and gave her a look. Ling Lian wasn't stupid; she suddenly recalled that Prince Regent Jing was in Luo Water City. Seeing the shine in Yun Qianyue's eyes, she knew that persuasion would be useless, so she stopped trying to persuade her and said: "The two of us will go with Miss as well, providing company on the journey. Miss cannot say no to taking us along, otherwise Prince Regent Jing won't feel at ease."
"Alright, then let's all go together!" Yun Qianyue nodded with a smile.
Ling Lian and Yi Xue hurriedly went down to pack their belongings.
"Rong景 is in Luo Water City; don't think I'm unaware of it! Look at you being so smug! However, on the way there, you cannot see him lest you waste time. Only after your affairs in He Valley County are settled will you be free to do as you please. Otherwise, what I just said about helping to annul your marriage won't stand." The youth stared at Yun Qianyue's gleaming eyes and issued a warning.
"From the capital city to He Valley County, how many days are you planning to take" Yun Qianyue glanced at him but didn’t answer his question instead asking another one.
"Three days!" The youth replied.
"I can get there in two and a half days; meeting Rong景 once in Luo Water City won't cause any delays for you," Yun Qianyue said.
The youth was pleasantly surprised. "You can reach He Valley County in two and a half days The roads are difficult these days, so I already consider three days the limit."
"If I say I can get there in two and a half days, then I will," Yun Qianyue stated confidently.
"Alright! As long as you reach He Valley County in two and a half days, I'll let you see him once." Seeing that Yun Qianyue didn't seem to be joking around, he immediately said this.
Yun Qianyue no longer spoke. She walked up to the mirror, looked at herself briefly, thought about it for a moment, glanced back at the youth through the reflection and decided against changing clothes. It was fine going out as she was; after all, since Yun Li now managed Cloud王府, she turned to Ling Lian who was packing things and said: "Go tell Yun Li that I'll be away on a long trip. If there are matters he can't handle in the household, have him seek advice from the old man before it's too late; let him pass along his warmth while he still has time. Should any major matter arise that neither Yun Li nor the old man can manage, inform someone close to them and they will surely relay the message to me."
The people around Yun Li were all from Wind Pavilion, so naturally they could be trusted.
"Yes!" Ling Lian responded and hurriedly left Shallow Moon Courtyard.
Soon after, Ling Lian returned and reported to Yun Qianyue: "Miss, Prince Yun Li isn't here. Emperor instructed him on some matters two days ago and now he's learning at the Ministry of Rites with the王爺. I suppose he is still there; I passed your message onto someone close to him."
"Hmm!" Yun Qianyue nodded.
Ling Lian continued packing together with Yi Xue, and after a short while, they had everything ready for the journey. The youth had been impatiently waiting long before them, leading the way out of the room. Yun Qianyue made brief instructions to Aunt Zhao, Tingxue, Tingyu, and others before also leaving Shallow Moon Courtyard; Ling Lian and Yi Xue carried their bags following Yun Qianyue.
The four quickly arrived at Cloud王府’s main gate where four horses had already been prepared.
They mounted the horses and were just about to leave when a carriage came around from a street corner. Its curtains lifted, revealing someone calling out: "Sister Moon!"
Yun Qianyue turned her head; it was Ye Tianqing. She raised an eyebrow slightly but didn't respond.
"Sister Moon, are you going out" Ye Tiansheng looked at Yun Qianmo as his gaze swept over the youth and Ling Lian and Yi Xue who were carrying luggage.
"Yes!" Yun Qianmo nodded. Seeing that Ye Tiansheng's carriage seemed to be heading towards Prince Yun’s manor, she responded without asking anything further.
"I was originally thinking about how long it has been since I’ve had a chance to catch up with Sister Moon and wanted to spend some time with her. It seems that won’t happen now." Ye Tiansheng smiled as he looked at the youth by Yun Qianmo's side, his eyes flickering with something before continuing: "However, it looks like it will be difficult for Sister Moon to leave the city gates. Ever since Prince Jing and Seventh Brother left the city, Father Emperor ordered the gates sealed. Without special circumstances or an imperial decree, nobody can leave the city."
"Is that so" Yun Qianmo raised her eyebrows.
"That’s right! You should know that Heaven Saint is experiencing widespread disaster and many displaced people have flooded into the capital. To prevent chaos in the capital, Father Emperor issued this imperial decree. However, soldiers both inside and outside of the city are under Night Qingran's command. If Sister Moon has a hand-written order from him, she can leave without needing Father Emperor’s edict. He treats you well; I'm sure he’ll give you that favor," Ye Tiansheng added.
Upon hearing this, Yun Qianmo glanced at the youth who gave an indignant snort—clearly aware of this situation. She recalled how they’d clashed with Night Qingran on the day of Yun Li’s adoption ceremony and realized he was having trouble leaving the city. This must be one reason why he sought her out now. With a slight smile, she asked Ye Tiansheng: "Where is Night Qingran now"
"He's at the Ministry of War!" replied Ye Tiansheng.
"Thank you! I'll invite you for tea when I return to the capital." Yun Qianmo thanked him.
With a warm smile, he said: "I’ll be looking forward to that cup of tea from Sister Moon! Be careful on your journey."
Yun Qianmo didn’t speak anymore and urged her horse in the direction of the Ministry of War instead of heading for the east gate. Although she could force her way out, she wanted to avoid causing Night Qingran any trouble.
The youth hadn't given Ye Tiansheng a second glance during Yun Li’s ceremony, preoccupied with fighting Night Qingran. Now he scrutinized him from head to toe while talking to Yun Qianmo and raised an eyebrow without saying anything, following her toward the Ministry of War. Ling Lian and Yi Xue naturally followed them.
Ye Tiansheng watched as the four figures disappeared down the street, his gaze lingering on the youth with a depth that was hard to decipher until they were out of sight at the end of the thoroughfare. He then instructed his driver: "Return home."
The coachman whipped the reins and headed back toward what used to be the Crown Prince’s mansion but is now the Second Prince's.
Not long after, Ye Tiansheng's voice echoed from inside the carriage again: "Head for Chancellor’s Manor! I haven't seen Miss Qin in a few days."
"Yes!" responded the coachman. The Crown Prince’s mansion and Chancellor’s Manor were on the same street; he didn’t have to change direction.
Yun Qianmo's party soon arrived at the Ministry of War, where she remained in her saddle but called out: "I need to see Night Qingran—send him outside."
In this Heavenly Saint capital, many people wouldn't recognize the emperor, but few didn’t know Yun Qianmo. Regardless if elderly or child, male or female, they knew that this woman was Miss Shallow Moon of Prince Yun Manor. Thus, a soldier hurried inside to fetch Night Qingran.
"You’re quite well-known in Heavenly Saint’s capital" the youth remarked when he saw how quickly the guards responded to Yun Qianmo's request.
"Everyone fears me digging up their ancestors’ graves if I so wish," replied Yun Qianmo with a smile.
The youth rolled his eyes: "Your reputation is truly terrible! Everyone in the world curses you, while Rong Jing is universally admired. How did you manage to get him"
"Why don’t you say it was he who got me" Yun Qianmo shot back with a glare, reminding him: "Aren't you eager to go to River Valley County Why are you still joking around now"
"I am in a hurry, but if I can reach there within three days, then I won’t be. I believe he’ll hold out!" The youth was no longer as urgent as when he had burst into Shallow Moon Hall; his tone and expression were much calmer.
"You’re going to rescue someone" Yun Qianmo grasped the purpose behind his words with sensitivity.
He nodded: "Yes!
Yun Qianyue no longer asked. Regardless of who he went to save, it had nothing to do with her; she just needed to send him off. Her goal was Luo Shui City, and the person she wanted to see was Rong Jing.
In between speaking, a figure strode out from within the Ministry of Justice—it was Ye Qingran. He wore the official attire of a General of the Military Department, exuding an aura that was intimidating yet noble. In just a few steps, he arrived at the doorway and glanced at all four people with his eyes. His gaze briefly lingered on the young man before darkening slightly; when it passed over Ling Lian and Yi Xue and saw their backpacks, his brows furrowed in concern. Finally, his eyes met Yun Qianyue's, and he raised an eyebrow as if guessing her intention, "Little girl, are you leaving the city"
"Mm!" Yun Qianyue nodded.
"Where to" Ye Qingran asked.
"Luo Shui City!" Yun Qianyue replied. She felt it best not to mention the young man's secrets, as she respected his privacy. Rong Jing was in Luo Shui City now; if she went there, no one would suspect her. After all, their relationship was well-known, and if she didn't go looking for him, people might find it strange that she was so obedient.
"I thought you'd leave the city with him that day! I hadn't expected you to stay comfortably in your residence for several days. Now you can't sit still" Ye Qingran said with a look of "so it's true."
Yun Qianyue rubbed her forehead, putting on an expression of being troubled and missing someone dearly. She truthfully replied, "I am restless! It feels like three autumns have passed since I last saw him."
"You're a disappointment!" Ye Qingran scolded Yun Qianyue.
Yun Qianyue lowered her hand and smiled at him. "Be straightforward, let me leave the city."
"Do you still need me to give permission The soldiers guarding the gate might open it for you upon seeing you," Ye Qingran said half seriously, half jokingly.
"Don't bet on it! In the past, maybe they would open the gates immediately upon seeing me, but now that you are the general of all four city gates and West Mountain Military Camp, your military discipline is strict. It won't be easy for me to leave the city; I might have to wade through blood."
Ye Qingran snorted in agreement. Looking at the young man beside Yun Qianyue, he said coldly, "You can go out, but you cannot take him along!"
"Skinflint!" The young man glared at Ye Qingran and looked at his hand with a mocking smile, saying, "Did your pig hoof hands heal Do you still want me to turn them back into pig hooves"
Ye Qingran was enraged upon hearing this. Before he could act out in anger, Yun Qianyue immediately stopped him and warned the young man with a stern look: "He's just a child; why should you take it seriously If I have something important to do, quickly give me an order so that I can leave the city. He has something important too, we must go together."
"Who's the kid" The young man glared at Yun Qianyue defiantly.
"Do you not want to leave the city then" Yun Qianyue tilted her head and looked at him.
The young man unwillingly fell silent. That day, he was also full of anger. He had asked Ye Qingran, the little devil king, if he recognized the person in the painting—no one knew who it was. Initially, Ye Qingran was amiable but as soon as he asked what Yun Qianyue's purpose was to find this person and she said "I like him", his attitude instantly changed. They ended up fighting, and after that incident, the young man had been locked in Rong Jing's study for a few days. She still felt frustrated when recalling it; secretly thinking they had created a big rift and deciding to swallow her pride first before getting even with them later.
"Do you really want to take him out of the city Is there something important he needs to do, or is it for your own reason" Ye Qingran wasn't stupid—he was quite shrewd. He believed that if Yun Qianyue wanted to see Rong Jing and go to Luo Shui City, she could just leave by herself; why bring a young man along He had investigated the young man's background after returning from receiving Yun Li's adoptive son ceremony but couldn't find anything conclusive. There was no name in the world called Luo Yu, clearly it was a fake! His true identity was highly suspicious. Moreover, this person seemed to have suddenly appeared in Cloud City and caused quite a stir before being thrown at Rong Jing by Yun Qianyue. Since then, he had been under Rong Jing's protection. He wanted to investigate but was cleverly avoided by that weakling beauty. These days, apart from meeting Rong Feng, no one else could approach him. Even he couldn't get close, let alone others; it wasn't easy to snatch food out of the hands of a weakling. Therefore, he still didn't know this young man's identity but judging by his demeanor and appearance, it seemed that his origins were not simple.
"Don't ask anymore, in any case, you won't lose from it!" Yun Qianyue waved her hand impatiently, urging him on. "Quickly give me the order so I can leave the city!"
"You little girl! Don’t let yourself be sold off by others!" Ye Qingran coldly sized up the young man.
The young man naturally didn't have a good expression towards him and sniffed disdainfully.
"I sell people more often than they sell me," Yun Qianyue extended her hand to Ye Qingran.
Ye Qingran brushed off Yun Qianyue's hand, suddenly pressing his toes against the ground. In an instant, he sat behind Yun Qianyue on horseback and said, "I'll escort you out of the city!"
"That’s great!" Yun Qianyue smiled when she saw him agree and kicked her heels into the horse's sides. The stallion galloped away from the Military Department.
"True beauty is indeed a curse! A disastrous infatuation." The youth muttered to himself before kicking his horse to follow Cloud Qianyue.
Cloud Qianyue pretended not to hear him. Ye Qingran naturally didn't care about the youth's mutterings and continued speaking to her while riding on horseback. Most of what he said was about this year’s heavy rain causing severe damage, with many granaries being flooded. Yong Jing’s ten grain silos had already been put to use early on, but using them so early meant that there would still be a shortage of food when winter came around. They needed to find ways to stockpile more grains.
Cloud Qianyue thought about how it would take at least half a year for things to recover from this massive flood in the coming winter, enough time for the old emperor to go through a flurry of activity due to his heart disease. However, she didn’t know whether he could survive this year’s winter and see Yong Jing and herself come of age.
They soon arrived at the Eastern City Gate. Ye Qingran ordered the gatekeepers to open it and let Cloud Qianyue and her group leave.
"No need for thanks!" Cloud Qianyue thought that saying ‘thank you’ to Ye Qingran would be too courteous and distant.
"When I come back, take me to Drunken Fragrance Tower for a big meal! And play a tune for me." Ye Qingran made a demand.
"Agreed!" Cloud Qianyue readily nodded in agreement.
Ye Qingran dismounted his horse and gave the youth a glance before instructing Cloud Qianyue, "Be careful on your journey!"
Cloud Qianyue nodded but said no more. She led the way out of the city gate, followed by the youth, Ling Lian, and Yi Xue.
As he watched them leave, Ye Qingran’s gaze followed that faint purple figure until it shrank to a mere speck before he finally turned away. His eyes revealed a look of pity as he glanced at the gathered displaced people outside the city gate. It seemed like every additional glance cost him more strength to remain standing, and with a helpless wave of his hand, the guards promptly closed the gates.
Once out of the city gate, Cloud Qianyue saw the sight beyond it: for ten miles from the gate, displaced people queued up, ragged and emaciated. There were old and young among them, all with hungry and hopeful eyes. She knew that the old emperor had ordered his men to open the granaries to distribute food, but it was only done once a day and didn’t cater to everyone’s needs; perhaps some could get a small bowl each, but not enough to fill their stomachs.
Even outside of the capital city, there were so many displaced people. How many more must be wandering elsewhere in search of food just to survive A sense of pity suddenly welled up inside her—had this dynasty already become riddled with flaws and on the brink of collapse
This was the first time she had felt disappointment towards this dynasty and a vague desire to overthrow it!
Even if Yong Jing and Ye Tianyi worked separately to address the flooding, they were both capable enough to succeed. But what about next year’s heavy rain Or next winter’s snowstorm Or any other disaster that might strike No number of rescues could compare to addressing the root cause. Until officials no longer engaged in corruption and filth, their decay would continue. Just like a rotten object, treating its surface wouldn’t cure it. Only when the entire dynasty was clean and upright with many honest officials would the people feel at ease; then even in times of natural disasters or calamities, they could quickly mobilize to address them together instead of waiting for rescue by just one person.
"Miss" Ling Lian noticed that Cloud Qianyue had slowed down after leaving the city and called out softly when her expression kept changing.
Cloud Qianyue snapped back to reality. She saw the youth looking displeased at her, clearly intending to urge her on if Ling Lian hadn’t spoken up. Calming herself, she asked Ling Lian in a low voice, "The other day I told you to tell Third Young Master to support areas affected by the flood; did he do it"
"Third Young Master naturally followed Miss’s orders! However, there are too many displaced people and flooded areas. He can only try his best to help as much as possible." Ling Lian whispered, "Red Pavilion also quietly helped."
"It’s good to do what one can!" Cloud Qianyue nodded and sped up.
The youth saw that Cloud Qianyue had quickly overtaken him. He wanted to say something but held back. Although his riding skills were excellent, they couldn’t match hers; he found it somewhat strenuous trying to keep up with her.
From the capital city to River Valley County, there were eight major and minor cities along the way.
The road out of the city was naturally difficult, with puddles everywhere. But thankfully, after a day of no rain, the roads had become somewhat passable, although they still saw groups of displaced people walking about or horse-drawn carriages passing by. The four riders all rode on thoroughbred horses that could travel a thousand miles in a day, so their pace was not slow despite the poor road conditions.
The most shocking sight were the flooded fields along the official roads—everything was submerged underwater. Crops and wheat should have been growing this time of year but instead lay buried under water. In some places, there was too much water to see any crops; in others, plants had collapsed from lack of drainage. The fields looked desolate.
Cloud Qianyue saw so many scenes on her way out of the city that she felt numb after a hundred miles or so. She hadn’t planned to stop anywhere along the route and continued straight ahead to the next city, Qu City, using the token she had reclaimed from Nan Lingrui previously. The guards opened the gates for them without hesitation. Then she led her group towards their next destination—Huaian.
The youth also wanted to reach their destination as quickly as possible and followed Cloud Qianyue silently, not uttering a word.
At dusk, the four of them arrived at Huai'an City. Huai'an was a large city about two hundred and fifty miles from the capital. The flood situation in Huai'an was worse than that in Qu County, but it had clearly recovered better. At night, officials led soldiers to clear roads and drain water, while outside the city's farmlands, soldiers and civilians were busy digging ditches. Clearly, Rong Jing took measures to control water along the way to Luo Water City. He prioritized serious issues over minor ones, with saving lives being top priority. This was evident from not seeing any wailing dead bodies or mourners crying at the places they had passed through. Once farmland is submerged, it cannot be replanted, and once a person dies, there's no way to bring them back.
"Can you take it If yes, we'll have some dry food and continue on!" Yun Qianmo turned around to ask the young man.
The young man glanced at the shops in the city all closed down, while the largest restaurant, Drunken Fragrance Restaurant, was giving out porridge. The civilians lined up with large bowls, waiting calmly without any scramble for food. The curtains at the entrance of the restaurant were lifted, but there wasn't a single customer inside as if the heavy rain over the past seven days had caused even wealthy guests to lose interest in dining and entertainment outside. Even if he wanted to go in for dinner, they wouldn’t serve him. He nodded, "I can take it!"
Yun Qianmo looked at Ling Lian and Yi Xue, who immediately took out dry food and water.
The four of them quickly had a meal on horseback and continued to gallop towards Jingzhou County after dinner.
The road was full of water, making travel difficult, especially during the night. As such, their speed naturally wasn't as fast as it would be in daylight. After the heavy rain, the weather remained gloomy with no stars or moonlight at night. Ling Lian and Yi Xue lit up Night Bright Pearls to illuminate several meters around them.
After walking on a section of the official road, Yun Qianmo turned onto a mountain path in an uninhabited area.
"It's pitch dark, why are you taking this mountain path" The young man finally spoke up. He was indeed exhausted from their continuous travel without rest.
"This is the fastest route; we can cover another hundred miles overnight on it. Shouldn't we take it" Yun Qianmo glanced back at him.
The young man's words were choked off as he gritted his teeth, "Then let's go!"
Yun Qianmo didn’t say anything more and led the way up the mountain path. They didn't need horses for this route and had to lead them instead. The night was silent on the desolate mountain with chilly winds blowing, but since they were all brave, it wasn't frightening. However, the mountain path itself was difficult to walk on, especially after the rain; the rocks became loose, causing occasional slips underfoot. Yet, because of their martial skills, even ordinary people might struggle to move an inch at night, while they managed quite well.
They walked like this through most of the night. Initially, the young man counted how many mountain tops they had crossed but finally gave up due to exhaustion without complaining about fatigue or asking for rest, still gritting his teeth and following Yun Qianmo. Ling Lian and Yi Xue were also suffering from sore legs and feet, yet their rigorous training since childhood made them much tougher than the young man. Seeing Yun Qianmo’s steady posture ahead, her untroubled breathing, they were even more impressed by her compared to themselves.
At the darkest moment before dawn, Yun Qianmo suddenly stopped and waved behind her; Ling Lian immediately perked up with heightened senses while Yi Xue also sensed something was amiss. The young man, though exhausted, still noticed the unusual situation.
"Hide the Night Bright Pearls!" Yun Qianmo ordered.
Ling Lian and Yi Xue quickly hid them in their sleeves.
At this moment, a sudden sound of something tearing through the air came from ahead as if a gust of wind was approaching the four of them. The momentum was fierce, with incredible speed and power.
"None of you move!" Yun Qianmo whispered and leaped into action, her Crimson Beauty Silk flying out while simultaneously throwing a golden needle.
"Zhi zhi zhi zhi!" Several faint sounds indicated something hit the Crimson Beauty Silk, which deflected it back. Then came a series of cries followed by stones and bodies rolling down the mountain.
Yun Qianmo landed gracefully and paused momentarily before instructing Ling Lian and Yi Xue to take out the Night Bright Pearls.
The two immediately retrieved them from their sleeves.
Yun Qianmo stepped forward, followed by the others. They walked for a while until they saw dozens of black-clothed figures lying in the bushes ahead, clearly dead. Around them were scattered black-clothed figures holding stones and rolling down, some with cracked skulls, broken limbs, or golden needles piercing their foreheads. One among them was obviously the leader, hit by four thick arrows made from special materials that looked extremely sharp; one arrow pierced his neck, another hit his shoulder while two more struck his chest. He still held a large bow in his hand, from which the whistling sound came earlier.
"Yun Qianmo, I now truly admire you!" The young man observed the scene and realized none had escaped their grasp. Yun Qianmo's actions were swift, ruthless, and precise without leaving any room for error. His eyes gleamed as he looked at her.
"Can you still walk" Yun Qianmo glanced at his feet.
“Yes!” The young man gritted his teeth.
"Then let's go!" Yun Qianyue walked forward, ignoring the black-clothed corpses.
The young man was taken aback. "You're just going to leave like this Who are these people Aren't you going to investigate"
"Even if I investigated, I wouldn’t find anything," Yun Qianyue replied without looking back. The aura of the black-clothed men was similar to that of a hundred bodyguards who attempted to assassinate her and Rong Jing, as well as those she encountered when Night Tianyi took her to Lingtai Temple. She wasn't unfamiliar with their presence; in fact, it felt quite familiar, which is why she could sense the ambush from far away and take preemptive action.
"Who wants to kill you" The young man hurriedly caught up to Yun Qianyue.
"There are many who want me dead!" Yun Qianyue replied.
The young man grumbled, "If I had known this would happen, I wouldn’t have brought you along. There might still be more traps ahead; you’re such a headache." Though he said it, there was no real regret in his tone.
"You couldn't even leave the capital on your own. Even if you managed to leave the city, you’d only make it a hundred miles," Yun Qianyue noted.
"Don’t underestimate me!" The young man immediately retorted.
Yun Qianyue turned and glanced at his indignant face. "Whether or not I’m underestimating you, you know best. Since you entered the capital of Heavenly Saint and appeared beside Rong Jing and me, many people have been watching your every move. Once you’re out of our protection, they’ll ensnare you. Who will allow you to leave" she said coolly.
The young man sniffed but did not refute her words, as he knew them to be true.
Yun Qianyue didn’t speak further and continued walking ahead. She thought someone must have received a message very quickly; perhaps the moment she left the city, someone had already sent a pigeon message here with precise calculations that she would take this shortcut. It was evident they were well-versed in Heavenly Saint’s geography.
She recalled the terrain map Night Tianyi gave to the old emperor.
The four of them walked another mountain range and reached flat land. The young man's stamina had hit its limit; with a pale face, he told Yun Qianyue, "I can't walk anymore, let’s rest."
"Can you still ride a horse" Yun Qianyue asked.
The young man panted, "Even the strength to hold onto the reins is gone!"
“If you take a break now, you’ll never want to leave,” Yun Qianyue said as she mounted her horse and offered her hand to him. “I'll carry you.”
The young man remained seated on the ground; seeing that Yun Qianyue wasn’t about to rest at all, he angrily asked, "Yun Qianyue, are you still human"
"If you stay here and take a break now, it will take two days and a half to get there. You won't be able to save anyone," Yun Qianyue said slowly as she looked at his angry face. The young man immediately stood up and clenched his teeth while placing his hand in hers.
Yun Qianyue gently pulled him onto the horse before turning to Ling Lian and Yi Xue, both of whom were pale but much better than the young man. They quickly said they were fine and could go on.
"Alright," Yun Qianyue nodded and urged her horse forward. The young man was slumped in her arms like a limp shrimp, reminding her of Nan Lingrui when he was utterly exhausted; she couldn't help but chuckle.
Just as the corner of her mouth curved up, the young man suddenly spoke with gritted teeth, "Yun Qianyue, I will marry you one day. No, it's going to be me marrying you."
Note: The days have been gloomy and dark; I just remembered that the annual college entrance examination is coming up. To all students taking the exam, good luck! Freedom is in sight! O(∩_∩)O~
I think we should have an incredibly resilient heart to face a life that’s inevitably bleak, then strive to make every day splendid within this bleakness. This sentiment goes out to all my beloved readers and those who love me back! O(∩_∩)O~verything goes according to plan, it should be," he confirmed.Yun Qianyue immediately stood up and put her sword back on her person. She grabbed Jade Zishu’s hand and walked forward, saying, "Let's go...
